Florence Regional Arts Alliance is pleased to announce Scott Gellatly will be doing a workshop in Florence, Expressive Color in Plein Air, Wednesday, September 16th, and Thursday, September 17th. Scott is also our judge for our 2026 Coastal Plein Air Art & Wine Festival, September 19th and 2oth.

This two-day workshop will explore the fundamentals of plein air painting, with a focus on strategic color concepts to capture the light, atmosphere and emotion of the landscape. Participants will paint at diverse locations while considering the formal aspects of painting – shape, color, and edge. Scott will lead participants in plein air sessions, as well as color lectures and exercises. This workshop is intended for painters working in oil or acrylic. Scott will be working with oils.

Maximum workshop size is 15 students.
