Scott Gellatly is a Portland-based artist and instructor whose work straddles the line between representation and abstraction. His work has been exhibited nationally and was featured in the February/March 2023 issue of Plein Air Magazine. Scott is represented by LAURA VINCENT DESIGN & GALLERY in Portland, OR and Alki Arts in Seattle, WA.

Workshop Topic: Expressive Color in Plein Air
Workshop Description: This two-day workshop will explore the fundamentals of plein air painting, with a focus on strategic color concepts to capture the light, atmosphere and emotion of the landscape.
Participants will paint at diverse locations while considering the formal aspects of painting – shape, color, and edge. Scott will lead participants in plein air sessions, as well as color lectures and exercises. This workshop is intended for painters working in oil or acrylic. Scott will be working with oils.
